These last five years have taught me so much. They brought both sorrow and joy. Here, I learned to cherish every moment. Here, I fell in love with life. Here, I found myself. Here, I realized how beautiful life can be, despite storms and tempests overhead.
I am grateful for every second — for breaths of forest, mountains, and the people I was lucky enough to meet here.
I am thankful for all the lessons that revealed myself to me.
And to you, my dear, former partner — because of your toxic behaviors, I learned to find myself. It was as if you deliberately tormented me with insults and a stone-cold glare, so that I could rebuild myself anew.
I am deeply grateful to you.
I realized you were like a coach, sharpening my awareness of your lack of respect, even contempt. You were a teacher who confirmed my resolve: enough is enough.
You tested my courage many times — when you humiliated me, ridiculed me publicly, and the first time you raised your hand in drunken rage.
You were the perfect model of a psychopath, who apologizes ironically, because it’s my fault — I provoked you by asking for some silence and sleep at two in the morning, since I had to get up at four for work.
You became a warning for me — if I don’t fight for myself, I will remain a victim forever.
Thank you very much, my former partner, for everything I received from you and everything you took away.
Thanks largely to you, today I am strong, full of faith, and ready to live my fulfilled life.
So I am leaving toward my happiness.
I leave you my memories. I leave you my hope, for I no longer need it.
I have exchanged it for certainty and self-belief.
I say goodbye, my dear.
May you find your happiness too.
In love and respect.
